What Flower.com.au collects, why, and how to contact us about it.
Flower.com.au is an independent flower discovery and comparison site. We do not take orders or payments, and we do not have customer accounts.
What we collect
- Usage events. When you search, view a florist or product, or click through to a florist's website or phone number, we record the event with the page, the suburb searched, and the florist or product involved. Your IP address is stored only as a one-way hash so we can count unique visitors; we do not keep the raw address.
- Cookies. A first-party session cookie groups your events for up to a year; a
citycookie remembers a city you chose; admin users have a login cookie. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. - Approximate location. We look up your IP address in a local copy of the DB-IP database to guess your city. Nothing is sent to DB-IP. You can override the guess with the city switcher.
- Florist submissions. If you add or claim a florist listing, or suggest a correction, we keep the details you submit, including your email address, so we can verify the claim and contact you about it.
What we share
When you click through to a florist we add tracking parameters to the link so the florist can see the visit came from us. We do not sell or share personal information. Florist listing information (business name, address, phone, website, prices, delivery terms) is public information published on the site.
Third parties
Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap when a map is shown, and fonts from Google Fonts; those services receive your IP address as part of the request.
Your choices
Email hello@flower.com.au to ask what we hold about you, to have a submission removed, or to have a listing corrected or removed.
